I Am
The muse is
Silent.
So here I lie,
Adrift
Upon an ocean
Of my own refrain,
Storm-battered
And beaten down,
But never broken,
Never sunk,
For I am.
So weep not for me
And this life
Of mine.
For it is mine,
And I
Require no judgements.
Indeed,
I do not even want them.
I spurn them.
So save your tears
And your pity.
For I am,
And I'll be,
And I
Will
Survive.
